FAQ – Colorado Lawn Care
What is the best way to break up the clay soils in Longmont, CO?
Humate is an incredible soil conditioner and can be applied any time of the year. We can apply it in early spring, late spring, mid-summer, and in the fall; all work great. We suggest an application of Humate if you have soil lacking organic matter, a lawn lacking color and density, or heavy clay soils.
Humate is also smart to be applied 6-8 weeks before a special event and it will help bring out the dark-green color of the lawn. It will make the color of the grass a dark-green without causing it grow too fast. Humate is a soil conditioner and it helps release beneficial nutrients from the soil that are unavailable to the grass. Humate helps release the nutrients that are tied up in the soil, like nitrogen, iron, potassium, etc. These nutrients are often abundant in our soils, but are tied up or otherwise not available for the plant to uptake. We do suggest using Humate in conjunction with our 100% organic fertilizers to achieve the best results from your lawn care program.
