Recommended Add On Services / Upgrades
If you are a new customer to Organo-Lawn we strongly encourage you to do the following in addition to your full season lawn care program.
Brand New Customers Should Order This Program!
Ultimate Program
+ Sprinkler Audit
+ Core Aeration (at least one aeration)
Why is a Sprinkler Audit so Important?
Proper lawn watering is crucial for the success of an organic lawn care program. To achieve optimal results, it is essential to follow the 1-2-3-2-1 watering technique; otherwise, the effectiveness of the program may be compromised. We do not recommend using our services unless this watering method is being implemented. To ensure the success of our Ultimate and Gold Plus programs, we strongly suggest a sprinkler audit is completed by Organo-Lawn. It is a must-do for all first-time customers.
Core Aeration
Clay poses a significant challenge for our soil in Colorado. While aeration may not be necessary in most other states, it is essential in Colorado. At Organo-Lawn, we provide professional aeration services and highly recommend that homeowners aerate their lawns at least once a year, either in spring or fall. For areas with heavy clay soils, we suggest aerating twice a year, in both spring and fall.

Weeds That Require Back-to-Back Organic Applications
WILD STRAWBERRY
WILD VIOLET OR
SEVERE DANDELION INFESTATIONS
For lawns with wild strawberry or wild violets, or lawns with an excessive dandelion problem we have found that back-to-back applications of One Earth Weed Control spaced 7-10 days apart will achieve good control especially during the May application.
In severe cases a back-to-back-to-back may be necessary for full control of difficult weeds.

Wild Violet
Some Coarse Grasses Require a Very Special Application!
COARSE OR CLUMP GRASSES
These grasses are usually either coarse tall fescues, native field grasses, or brome grasses. These grasses are sometimes controllable but require a 3x special application of a product called Tenacity which is performed every 7-10 days.

If the homeowner waters the lawn properly (follows the 1-2-3-2-1 lawn watering technique), mows the lawn properly (3 inches or taller), and the lawn is on a full season lawn care program, we can typically turn a bad lawn around in 1 year.
Crabgrass is an annual grass that will only grow in areas of the lawn that are thin due to poor sprinkler coverage or improper lawn watering. Not every lawn will get crabgrass, so we only treat the lawns that have a crabgrass problem. Typically if the sprinkler system is working properly crabgrass will not grow in the lawn.
Yes, we will automatically move you into the Ultimate Program unless you tell us not to do so.
The Gold Plus Program is designed for customers who started after April 15th. The Ultimate Program features a spring application called Synergy, which contains corn gluten meal. This application helps reduce the number of weeds that germinate in your lawn, promoting a greener and healthier lawn without the use of chemicals.
The two most useful lawn care service upgrades are core aeration and a sprinkler system audit.
Due to very high clay content in the soil, lawn aeration is very important for areas in Longmont, Boulder, Fort Collins, Niwot, Loveland, basically all of Colorado.
Sprinkler system audits are the most important aspect to organic lawn care. If a lawn is not being watered according to the 1-2-3-2-1 technique the lawn will not do very well on our program.
Neither lawn program automatically includes tree care, but this is an additional service that you can add to your service list.
We recommend fertilization of young trees, struggling trees, oaks, ashes, birches, and maples, and especially trees that are new transplants.
